Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Delivering World-Class QA

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Warhorse Studios, the Prague-based developer renowned for its historically grounded RPGs, returned in 2025  with the highly anticipated Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

Challenge

Expanding on the depth and realism of its predecessor, the sequel features a vast open world, complex systems, and a richly detailed campaign that demanded precision QA to ensure a polished, immersive release.

Partnering with Warhorse during the latter stages of development, Testronic provided comprehensive Functionality QA, with a focus on intensive support during the game’s most critical phases.

The collaboration required rapid on-boarding, meticulous organization, and close communication between integrated Functionality QA (FQA) and development teams to maintain milestone readiness and smooth certification across multiple platforms.

The game featured a vast open world with intricate systems, branching quests, and a campaign exceeding 50 hours (100+ hours with side content). This meant comprehensive coverage and careful organization by Testronic.

In addition, much of the game was not translated into English until well into the development schedule. That meant that testers with proficiency in Slavic languages were essential.

Meanwhile, Testronic joined the process during the alpha stage, years after development began. The team needed to rapidly catch up, familiarize themselves with the franchise, and process a backlog of thousands of bug reports.

Solution & Impact

Joining late in the development schedule, Testronic worked swiftly to integrate, taking just two weeks to be fully operational through a structured and immersive onboarding process. It meant that the team were able to quickly provide meaningful feedback and seamlessly integrate into each phase, ensuring readiness and alignment with project goals.

Close collaboration with the Warhorse team was crucial to ensure smooth communication and clear task prioritisation, which was critical for a project of this scale.

Testronic’s approach combined franchise familiarity with technical expertise. By deploying FQA testers experienced in large-scale RPG testing, the team ensured consistent coverage across narrative, systems, and gameplay layers.

Testronic helped Warhorse maintain quality momentum through beta, global release, post-release, and supported all its expansions. The result was a successful February 2025 debut, earning ‘Very Positive’ Steam reviews and favourable critical reception across platforms.

Warhorse Studios commended Testronic’s adaptability, detailed issue reporting, and commitment to quality – recognising the partnership as integral to the successful delivery of one of the year’s most immersive and ambitious RPG experiences.
