Testronic’s Women in Games Ambassadors: Real Voices Driving Change

Testronic’s Women in Games Ambassadors: Real Voices Driving Change

Creating a more inclusive games industry requires more than good intentions. It takes visible role models, active support networks, and people willing to champion change.

At Testronic, that commitment is reflected in our active support of Women in Games as a Silver Corporate Ambassador. We are also proud to have Women in Games Individual Ambassadors within our teams. Through their stories, these individuals show what supporting women in the industry looks like in practice.

For Viktoryia Mahuila, Recruitment Manager at Testronic’s Center of Excellence in Warsaw, becoming a Women in Games Ambassador was a natural extension of the work she already does every day – helping talented people find opportunities in the industry.

In her role, Viktoryia focuses on building diverse and equitable recruitment practices across Testronic’s global teams, ensuring that women and underrepresented talent have the visibility and support they need during the hiring process.

Discussing her role in recruitment, she points out: “A big part of my work is ensuring that women and underrepresented talent have visibility, opportunity, and support throughout the hiring process. Over the years, I’ve become deeply committed to advocating for fair representation in games – not only by helping studios hire great people, but also by challenging old norms and opening doors for more women to thrive in technical, creative, and leadership roles.”

But her motivation for becoming a Women in Games Ambassador was personal as well as professional: “I became a Women in Games Ambassador because I wanted to support other women who, like me, didn’t come from a traditional games background but were passionate about joining the industry.

“My own experience showed me how important encouragement and visibility are, and I wanted to help create that for others. It’s my way of giving back and helping more women feel confident taking their place in games.”

Through mentoring and sharing her experience, Viktoryia helps women understand the many different entry points into the games industry.

“I enjoy offering guidance to women who are starting out or considering a career in games, helping them understand opportunities, navigate the hiring process, and build confidence,” she explains.

She also believes that community is essential. By connecting women with peers, mentors, and industry professionals, Ambassadors can help create the supportive networks that make long-term careers possible.

For Izabela Szczurska, Global Workforce Director, also at Testronic’s Center of Excellence in Warsaw, the motivation comes from a long career observing how confidence gaps can affect women’s professional development. With more than 20 years of experience across multiple industries, Izabela has seen how many talented women hesitate to pursue opportunities or leadership roles – even when they are highly qualified.

She explains: “I know that many young women entering the labor market often have less confidence in their abilities and competencies, and are less likely to apply for internal opportunities or pursue more senior roles than their male counterparts. We must try to change that.”

Her work as a Women in Games Ambassador focuses on helping to shift that dynamic. Izabela supports women through coaching and mentoring initiatives and through programs designed to support parents returning to work after extended career breaks – an area that can significantly impact women’s career progression.

“Looking at the percentage of men versus women in the games industry, it is important to support women and encourage them to join our community.”

Working alongside Testronic’s marketing team, she is also helping to develop initiatives that spotlight women working in games and encourage more women to consider the industry as a career. The experiences of Viktoryia and Izabela highlight why representation and community matter so much in the games industry.

For many women, simply seeing people like themselves working in the industry – or hearing their stories – can be the encouragement needed to take the first step. Ambassadors play a crucial role in making those stories visible while also offering practical support through mentoring, networking, and advocacy. By sharing their journeys and supporting others, Testronic hopes that its Ambassadors help create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the company itself.

Meanwhile, at an organizational level, Testronic’s partnership with Women in Games reflects a broader commitment to building a more inclusive industry.

Sharon Baylay-Bell, CEO of Testronic, believes that initiatives like Women in Games are essential for driving meaningful change: “Women in Games plays a vital role in supporting and empowering women across our industry. At Testronic, we are proud to be a Silver Corporate Ambassador and to support the incredible work the organisation does to create opportunities, build networks, and champion diversity. We encourage more people – both women and men – to become Individual Ambassadors and help strengthen this global community.”

For those already working in games, or those considering a career in the industry, getting involved with organisations like Women in Games can be a powerful way to build connections, find mentors, and contribute to positive change.

Testronic’s Women in Games Ambassadors demonstrate that advocacy doesn’t require a single career path or background. What matters most is a willingness to support others, share experiences, and help open doors.

And as more voices join the conversation, the future of the games industry becomes stronger, more diverse, and more welcoming for everyone.
