Beyond Translation: The People Powering Testronic’s Localization Excellence

At Testronic, our localization QA project managers bring together diverse backgrounds in linguistics, technology, and games to ensure that every release for our clients feels seamless, authentic, and culturally resonant for players. Here, they share what drives their work, how their unique skills shape each project, and why collaboration and diversity are key to delivering excellence.
The Blueprint For Delivering Excellence
Excellence at Testronic is rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and cultural awareness, with a focus on quality, excellence, and care.
Knowledge-sharing is key, explains Jamie Kelly-Warwick, whose linguistic expertise allows him to communicate with clarity and precision: “The unique experiences and talents of each team member are paramount in creating a harmonious standard across languages.” He often focuses on the “unknown cases” in projects, using them as mentoring opportunities to help others grow while solving complex issues.
Andrew Wu echoes this emphasis on collaboration. His background in IT, social research, and education equips him with both technical and analytical tools. He has mentored leads and technicians, encouraging open dialogue and documentation. “Knowledge-sharing builds trust, accelerates learning, and ensures consistency in quality,” he notes. His proudest achievement was guiding a large-scale multilingual project under tight deadlines – an accomplishment made possible by streamlined workflows and transparent communication.

Patri Rivera has an academic background in Translation and Intercultural Studies that allows her to provide linguistic expertise to clients, particularly in Spanish. For her, excellence means raising the bar: “‘Good enough’ isn’t good enough. Our goal will always be to deliver top quality, considering the timeframe and scope assigned to any project.”
Natalia Fischer’s emphasis on anticipating client needs before they arise is directly linked to her experience in both FQA and LQA. She believes that excellence is about going beyond client expectations: “It’s not just about meeting deadlines. It’s about anticipating potential issues before they arise and making the process as smooth and efficient as possible,” she explains. In addition, playing games as a hobby has helped her become a better project manager: “It helps me stay connected to the player experience and better understand the products I work on.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Gillmann believes the secret to top-class service is simple: care and dedication. It’s a philosophy that has been driven in part by his background in playing games: “Caring about the work we do, about the impact we can have on the players, about always giving our best. Being surrounded by people who are invested in what they do makes it easy to be invested yourself – and that dedication shows on the final product.”
Together, these project managers showcase how Testronic delivers more than just technical QA. Their journeys reveal a passion for languages, technology, and games that directly shapes the quality of their work. Through diverse skills and shared commitment to collaboration, they ensure that every title tested is more than just playable – it’s immersive, authentic, and ready for players everywhere.
Collaboration, Diversity, and the Future of LQA
Across their different backgrounds and career paths, a few themes unite Testronic’s localization project managers. Each values collaboration as the key to success, whether that means cross-functional learning, mentoring, or anticipating client needs. Diversity, too, is at the heart of their approach: international perspectives catch cultural nuances, while varied skills – from scripting to translation – open innovative solutions.
While AI and automation are reshaping some parts of the industry, the PMs agree that the human touch will remain vital. As Jamie puts it: “LQA turns great games into amazing games when resourced correctly.” Andrew adds that the future lies in “shaping experiences that resonate meaningfully with players around the world.”
For Natalia, Patri, and Thomas, the motivation is clear: supporting teams, empowering testers, and delivering work that goes beyond expectations. Whether managing massive franchises or quirky indie gems, their collective goal is the same: helping games speak fluently, culturally, and emotionally to every gamer who presses ‘Play.’
The final word goes to Natalia, who underlines the importance of the diversity of the team in providing excellence to clients: “In LQA, having people with different cultural perspectives and gaming experiences helps us catch issues others might miss, as well as ensuring the localized content is culturally appropriate for each language. Diverse disciplines also mean we approach problems from multiple angles. Thanks to all of this, our teams are able to collaborate successfully and come up with different creative solutions – whatever the challenges.”
