2018 was a storming year for the Testronic team. We expanded our staff count significantly, added a range of new clients across both our games and film & TV divisions, opened an office in Asia Pacific AND picked up two awards along the way!
The awards – the Develop Award for QA & Localisation and the TIGA Award for Diversity – were particular highlights of the year, especially coming in what was our 20th anniversary year.
Back in 1998 when we first opened our doors, it was a great year for visual entertainment. At the cinema, we enjoyed the likes of Saving Private Ryan, The Truman Show and the disaster movie double-whammy of Armageddon and Deep Impact.
Will & Grace and Dawson’s, Creek challenged Friends for TV audiences.
And in the games industry, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Half-Life and Metal Gear Solid set new benchmarks in interactive entertainment.
20 years on and the entertainment industry is a very different place, not least thanks to the boom in streaming services (where audiences are still enjoying the likes of Friends!). Digital entertainment in the home is giving consumers access to more TV shows, films and games than ever before – but one area of the sector that hasn’t changed is the commitment to QA and localisation.
Indeed, in these times of social media, it’s more important than ever before that quality standards remain high across all forms of entertainment – consumers won’t accept anything less.
And at Testronic, our standards are leading the way. Picking up the Develop Award last summer – and beating the likes of Jinglebell Localization, LocalizeDirect, Keywords Studio, Pole To Win and Universally Speaking is testament to that.
20 years since launch, Testronic is in a stronger position than ever before. 2018 was a fantastic year for us to celebrate our anniversary. And here’s to many more.
We look forward to seeing all our friend and clients in 2019.
