Video On Demand (VOD)

Video On Demand is either provided by streaming content through a set top box, allowing viewing in real time, or by downloading content to a device such as a computer, digital video recorder, personal video recorder or portable media player.

The majority of cable operators offer VOD streaming such as Pay Per View (PPV) where the consumer can buy or select content and watch it almost instantaneously, or download it to a DVR for viewing later.
