TL Selected as Independent Test Lab for WiMedia

The WiMedia Alliance has confirmed that Testronic Labs has been awarded the status of Independent Test Lab for WiMedia technologies.  We are proud to welcome WiMedia into our existing program of certifications which include USB, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), S-ATA and Firewire. With burgeoning interest in the connected living room and the interoperability of web-enabled consumer electronics devices, this latest development helps embed TL yet further at the heart of the digital media ecosystem – the nexus of content and device in the home.

WiMedia is a new wireless technology for short range, high data rate and low power consumption in indoor environments. It also is the support layer for different wireless innovations like the popular next generation Bluetooth technology and Wireless-USB.

This award allows TL to offer certification services for your products based on the alliance’s compliance, certification and interoperability (C&I) program for both PHY and MAC layers.

WiMedia certification services will be provided out of Testronic Labs’ Belgium operation in Diepenbeek. This new program supports Testronic Labs’ status as the go-to certifiers for consumer electronics and component manufacturers seeking the necessary credentials to bring their products to market.

The WiMedia Alliance, a 350+ member global nonprofit organization, defines, certifies and supports enabling wireless technology for multimedia applications. WiMedia’s UWB technology represents the next evolution of Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) offering end users wireless freedom and convenience in a broad range of PC and consumer electronics products.
