Neil Goodall, CEO at Testronic Labs, has been selected to appear on a panel at a this week’s industry thought-leadership event, the Futuresource Entertainment Summit. London’s Cumberland Hotel plays host to leading lights from the broadcast, retail, entertainment and digital media industries as they come together to discuss new home entertainment technologies and trends under the well-respected Futuresource aegis. Mr Goodall’s panel, “Driving Home Video Forward: Blu-ray and Beyond”, is the closing event of the two-day summit and promises to leave the gathered delegates with much food for thought at this key time of evolution for the industry. The panellists will consider the rise of digital distribution, how Blu-ray has fared in various territories, plus new physical entertainment consumption avenues like “content on memory cards” and the ubiquitous issue of rental, whether at the store or the ubiquitous American kiosk. As content owners, distributors, portal owners and broadcasters vie for a monetised business model and
an understanding of consumer expectations, how is the consumer best served and best retained? These issues and more will be at the forefront of the panellists minds, which is why this gathering of influential individuals from the consumer electronics, content, retail, broadcast, online and mobile sectors is an ideal setting for Testronic Labs to bring the story of its new digital entertainment test lab to the European market. This follows a successful appearance at LA’s Entertainment Supply Chain Academy event last week, where Seth Hallen moderated a fascinating panel named “Modelling Our Future: The New Digital Supply Chain”.
